Strikkosaurus is knitted in Sandnes Garn Kos, and comes in two sizes. If you knit Strikkosaurus with double thread on needle 5 you get a chunky and large teddy bear, and if you knit with single thread Kos on needle 3 you get a small version that is great for playing.
This is a pattern that can be combined with a number of yarn alternatives, and you can easily replace the original yarn with other yarns with approximately the same knitting tension. The great thing about knitting teddy bears is that knitting tension doesn't necessarily matter that much. The most important thing is that the stitches are tight enough so that the wadding to fill the teddy bear doesn't leak out. So try your hand at it with whatever scraps you have!
I recommend knitting with the "Magic Loop" technique as the pattern is adapted for this purpose.
